From Department of Energy
Heating and cooling accounts for almost half of the average home’s utility costs.
We have the power to save money and energy in your own home. Saving energy reduces our nation’s demand for the resources needed to make energy, and improving your energy efficiency is like adding another clean energy source to our electric power grid. The result is reduced utility bills and money in your pocket. Improving your energy efficiency can also improve the comfort of your home and your quality of life.
What Is a Smart Thermostat
Regular thermostats let you adjust the temperature in your home—it’s just a control panel for your heating and air conditioning system. Programmable thermostats let you set the temperature and have the thermostat change it based on the time of day. What makes most smart thermostats so “smart” is that they learn from your behaviors, allow you to control the climate in your home remotely, show you energy consumption in real-time, and can even adjust themselves based on ambient conditions like humidity.
For example, you can voice anywhere in your house tell thermostat to shut off after you leave the house for work, and then spring back into action in just enough time to make the house nice and toasty (or cool and comfortable, depending on the season) by the time you to get home. Most smart thermostats show you how long it takes to make the change you’ve requested, so you can see how effective your climate control system really is, and it discourages people from turning a thermostat all the way down to try “cooling off the house faster” (which never works). Plus, you can manage many smart thermostats from your phone or a web-app. From the remote interface, you can always see how much you’re spending on heating or cooling costs, tweak the programming to you save money, and see the results immediately.
Tri Cascade ThermoRing
The latest Smart Technology for Temperature Management
Tri Cascade Smart Thermostat – ThermoRing Model 10ze Smart Thermostat retains a traditional thermostat control experience design, taking the design of retro volume nub for the most user-friendly control experience that will fit to almost everyone. ThermoRing adds in a related mobile app and integrates with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. It also built-in machine learning algorithms on the Cloud helping you to setup the best energy efficient temperature environment.
The Motion sensor of ThermoRing detects human body temperature when you are close by to the device and light up the temperature display so you can see the current house temperature automatically. It will turn off and set the system idle as energy conversation feature in 30 seconds when there is no people around.
Voice Control and IoT Synchronization
Other than supporting Amazon Alexa, ThermoRing also synchronize with other Tri Cascade IoT devices such as Smart Wall Plug’s temperature sensor as the second source in house temperature and power consumption metering for your HVAC system. A special designed voice system throughout Tri Cascade Smart Light Switch and Dimmers. Tri Cascade Smart Lighting control system built-in with high quality microphone detection sensor allowing people to use voice to control their idea home temperature climate from anywhere in the house, no need any additional device for the voice operation.
There is another unique voice feature designed with ThermoRing mobile app allowing you to utilizing the mobile phone to voice control the ThermoRing while you are not around the house at any remote location, simply just bring up Tri Cascade mobile app and voice “heat on 75 degree”. ThermoRing will turn on the heat to 75 degree, or shut off the HVAC system if you forgot to turn off the thermostat.
The Smart Temperature of ThermoRing has pre-setup to 70 F economic energy conservation temperature follows with a default schedule to turn off at 8:30 am and back on at 5:30 pm from Monday to Friday, and It will stay for 70 F in Saturday and Sunday. You can adjust the temperature and schedule by mobile and web app for your own preferences, or disable the smart temperature system.
The machine learning algorithms will learn your idea house temperature and use behavior automatically adjust the setting, but if you disable the Smart Temperature system, the system will stop the learning algorithms.
Tri Cascade Smart Temperature system will take your mobile phone location to define if you are home or away from home. After the mobile app detects you are away from home, the system will shut down the HVAC system in 30 minutes, meantime send you an alert message that your home thermostat is shutting down.
With BRIGHT 700-10 fast 802.11N wireless capabilities, the device connects to the cloud and performs real time backup of its configuration, device information, and energy usage consumption data. All data of the household is safely backed up on the cloud. If the homeowner ever decides to move from one house to another, they can bring their data with them.
